Northern Ireland’s Affordable Rent programme explained

What has been announced?
The Department for Communities announced an initial £61.5 million Affordable Rent programme designed to provide long-term rented homes at below-market costs for eligible lower-income households.
The first 300 homes are planned through housing provider Maple and May, beginning in Dungannon. The department also named Newry, Craigavon, Lisburn and Londonderry as locations expected to follow, with Belfast planned in later years.
