Community facilities fund receives another £1.97m for up to 68 projects
A further £1.97 million has been added to Northern Ireland’s Community Infrastructure Fund, taking the programme’s total value to £10.29 million.

What the extra funding will support
The Department for Communities has announced a further £1.97 million for the Northern Ireland Community Infrastructure Fund. The additional money, secured through the Local Growth Fund, is expected to allow up to 68 more community-building projects to receive support.
The fund is intended for practical improvements to existing community facilities, including repairs, small refurbishments, accessibility work and energy-efficiency upgrades.
Programme now valued at £10.29 million
The department says the programme is now worth £10.29 million in total. That figure comprises £6.32 million from the Department for Communities, £2 million from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, and the additional £1.97 million from the Local Growth Fund.
Applications were assessed against published criteria, with Co-operation Ireland administering the assessment process.
When projects are expected to begin
Successful organisations are expected to begin delivery during autumn 2026, subject to accepting their grants and meeting the relevant conditions.
