Killyman Primary School marks opening of £846,804 classroom extension

Two classrooms and additional support facilities have been officially opened at Killyman Primary School, following a building project completed in September 2025.

What the school now has

Education Minister Paul Givan has officially opened the extension at Killyman Primary School, the Department of Education announced on 8 October.

The facilities include two classrooms, space for learning in small groups, storage and upgraded bathrooms. The project involved the Education Authority and contractor McCuskers.

Opening and construction are different milestones

The department records a construction cost of £846,804 and a completion date of 15 September 2025. Its October 2026 announcement concerns the official opening, rather than a newly completed building.

Principal Deborah Mitchell welcomed the facilities and thanked pupils, staff and the project team. The department's original release contains the minister's and principal's full statements.
